In 2022, Mersin Free Zone set a new record with a trade volume of $4 billion, the highest achieved in its 35-year history since its founding in 1987.

With a 19% increase in trade volume and a 9% rise in employment compared to 2021, Mersin Free Zone continues to contribute significantly to the national and regional economy.

• MESBAŞ Chairman Ali Avcı announced that the total trade volume since the zone's establishment has reached $75.2 billion, with the 2022 figure surpassing all previous records.
• The free zone, home to 393 companies, primarily trades in industrial and agricultural products, with top trading partners including the US, Iraq, Egypt, Italy, and China.
• Mersin Free Zone achieved a record port cargo handling volume of 1.8 million tons in 2022, representing a 14% increase from the previous year.
• Operating at full capacity, the zone benefits from its strategic location near the Eastern Mediterranean's largest port, providing key logistical advantages.
