In 2022, Mersin Free Zone set a new record with a trade volume of $4 billion, the highest achieved in its 35-year history since its founding in 1987.

With a 19% increase in trade volume and a 9% rise in employment compared to 2021, Mersin Free Zone continues to contribute significantly to the national and regional economy.

  • MESBAŞ Chairman Ali Avcı announced that the total trade volume since the zone's establishment has reached $75.2 billion, with the 2022 figure surpassing all previous records.
  • The free zone, home to 393 companies, primarily trades in industrial and agricultural products, with top trading partners including the US, Iraq, Egypt, Italy, and China.
